PAKAR Pertanian Expo 2024 Sets the Stage for Innovation and Sustainability in Global Agriculture

Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, YB Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad bin Sabu, highlights innovation and collaboration as key to shaping agriculture's future




The much-anticipated PAKAR Pertanian Expo, a prominent event in the agricultural industry, commenced its second edition on the 1st of March at Hall A, MAEPS Serdang, Selangor, alongside the co-located Asia Supply-Chain Expo & Lab+Bio Exhibition (Food Edition). Today, the exhibition witnessed a successful opening ceremony, marking the beginning of a momentous gathering that highlights the latest innovations, practices, and technologies in agriculture.

 

The ceremony was graced by Malaysia's Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, YB Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad bin Sabu, who officially inaugurated the event in the presence of key industry figures, including presidents and chairmen of various associations, government officials, embassy representatives, and more. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the community and exhibitors gathered to witness the official launch of these expos.

 

During his keynote address, YB Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad bin Sabu shed light on current trends, challenges, and opportunities in the agricultural sector. The address set the tone for the event, emphasising the crucial role of innovation and collaboration in shaping the future of agriculture.

 

Running for three days from March 1st, 2024, the expo acts as an exclusive platform dedicated to the entire food supply ecosystem, placing particular emphasis on sustainability. Participants have the opportunity to explore various facets of the food supply chain, including farming, post-harvesting, research and development, food processing, packaging, logistics, and warehousing. In addition to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, the expo saw active participation from key departments including the Department of Agriculture, Department of Fishery Malaysia and Department of Veterinary Services.

 

Mr. Jansen Wong, Projector Director of 8tivation Studio Sdn Bhd, stated: "The energy and enthusiasm from the agricultural community, coupled with the impressive innovations on display, underscore the importance of this event in fostering growth and progress in our industry."

 

With more than 200 international exhibitors, including those from Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China, Australia, and the USA, the expo offers a wide variety of showcases in both indoor and outdoor settings, ranging from farming supplies and agricultural tools to advanced technologies, such as Internet-of-Things (IoT) and mobile robots. Visitors are provided with a comprehensive insight into the advancements shaping the future of agriculture on a global scale.

 

Each day of the expo features different seminar topics covering the full spectrum of the agricultural supply chain. Visitors are encouraged to attend daily to take full advantage of the valuable learning opportunities provided.
