MPOB to hold Webinar TOT 2021 next month

The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) will organize the MPOB Technology Transfer Seminar (TOT 2021 Webinar) online on 1 July 2021.

Director-General of MPOB Dr. Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir said, TOT 2021 Webinar will be officiated by the Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, Dato’ Dr. Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali.

MPOB will introduce four new technologies developed by its researchers that include crop protection, biomass and farm machinery.

"These new technologies encourage the use of innovation and new techniques which are environmentally friendly to increase the productivity of oil palm crops," said Dr. Ahmad Parveez.

MPOB offers technologies in the palm oil industry that have the potential and value of commercialization to be utilized by local industry players and entrepreneurs.

He said the technologies developed by MPOB can increase the productivity of workers in oil palm plantations, save costs and reduce environmental pollution.

“Technologies from MPOB's research have succeeded in increasing the efficiency of the oil palm industry and opening up business opportunities to local entrepreneurs,” he added.

TOT is MPOB's annual seminar and will be held online this year as Malaysia is still under the Movement Control Order in order to curb the spread of the COVID-19.

The TOT 2021 Webinar aims to disseminate MPOB's latest research findings and technology commercialization to local entrepreneurs and parties interested in exploring technology-based business opportunities in the palm oil industry.

Dr. Ahmad Parveez said, the TOT 2021 Webinar will provide business opportunities to small and medium industry entrepreneurs through the commercialization of technology offered by MPOB.

According to him, the webinar also provides business opportunities to smallholders, professionals in the field of engineering, scientists, researchers, food technologists, chemists, manufacturers and producers as well as those involved in the palm oil industry.
