MPOB to hold palm oil Review and Outlook (R&O) Seminar on Jan 16

The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) is organising a Review and Outlook (R&O) Seminar 2020 on Jan 16 to disseminate information on the performance of the palm oil industry in 2019, market prospects and price outlook for this year.

In a statement, MPOB said the seminar, which will be officiated by Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok Suh Sim, would focus on the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) and the way forward for the Malaysian palm oil, as well as trade development and its impact on the commodity.

MPOB director-general Dr Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir said participants would be able to explore opportunities and enhance their knowledge as the seminar will be a platform for them to widen their network.

Ahmad Parveez will present a lead paper on the performance of the Malaysian palm oil industry, while palm oil expert Dr James Fry will deliver a paper on market prospects and palm oil price outlook.

Local industry players, exporters, economists, policymakers and academicians are encouraged to participate in this seminar, it said.
