MPOB To Hold Palm Oil Economic Review And Outlook Seminar 2021

Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) will organise a Palm Oil Review and Outlook (R&O) Virtual Seminar 2021 on 11 January 2021 to disseminate information regarding the performance of the Malaysian oil palm industry in 2020, market prospects and price outlook for 2021.


Minister of Plantations Industries and Commodities Dato’ Dr. Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali will officiate the seminar, which is one of MPOB’s platforms to provide latest updates on the development of the palm oil industry.


The seminar will focus on the way forward for the palm oil industry, as well as trade development and its impact on the commodity. Four papers on the performance of the palm oil industry for 2020, market prospects and outlook for 2021 will be presented.


Director General of MPOB Dr Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir will present a paper on the performance of the palm oil industry in 2020 and prospects for 2021. Palm oil expert Dr. James Fry of LMC International Ltd will deliver a paper on market prospects and price outlook of the palm oil. Meanwhile, another industry expert, Dr Sathia Varqa will share his thoughts on market prospects while Mr Togar Sitanggang will share his views on the Indonesian palm oil situation and policy.


“The seminar will provide opportunities for the participants to update on the latest performance of palm oil industry, market developments and widen their network,” said Dr. Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir.
