Felcra Bhd says it has achieved 100% certification under the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) certification scheme for 162 areas under its administration as of Dec 31, 2019.
Chairman Datuk Nageeb Wahab said the certification was obtained by 1,246 estates owned by Felcra participants covering 178,857 hectares and 32 of its own estates covering 29,926 hectares, as well as six of its own palm oil mills nationwide.
"During the period of the implementation of the scheme from January 2018 to December 2019, all of these estates successfully obtained MSPO certification under the Malaysian Standard MS 2530:2013.
"Meanwhile, all Felcra-owned palm oil mills have received the MSPO certification and MSPO SCCS (‘Supply Chain Certification Standard’),” Nageeb said in a statement.
He said these achievements are in line with the government's aspirations to improve sustainability in the plantation and manufacturing sectors, adding Felcra’s certification success is a benchmark that showcases the company as one of the entities implementing sustainability initiatives in the palm oil industry.
